You know what's not fun?

Coming home for lunch and finding a little note hanging on your front door knob.

This one specifically stated that the water company had come by to visit, but since they didn't find anyone at home that they had turned off my water.

TURNED OFF MY WATER.

  • Gah! Claire, you can come here and use my water... it's included in the rent. In fact, I try to use extra water whenever I can.

  • jessica - don't take it for granted! thank your apartment company everday for the wondrous gift that is water. you just don't know how wonderful it truly is, until you have to start thinking about bathing out in the back yard in the puddles.

first nations - thanks, ma'am. luckily when i got home, all was ok again. *tosses sponge thataway*

  • Gah, what a pain. Our water was once shut off in Florida. Apparently Mom thought she had sent out the bill on time. The water company thought differently. Asshats.

  • I just love how utilities companies assume that customers are home during normal working hours, just waiting for them to drop by.

Don't even get me started on the cable companies and UPS.

Glad your problem was fixed so quickly.

  • christine - asshats, indeed. we had a billing "issue", too. The "issue" was that they have been sending their bills to the wrong address for a long time and haven't gotten paid. Apparently you don't have to pay your water bill for over a year before they turn off your water.

    orelinde - yeah, well...

da nator - gah! the cable company. we have the cable company voice system and they haven't been able to figure out why we suddenly don't have voicemail anymore. stupid utilities. hate them.

  • Oh, and FN - that sounds great. kind of like a monthly christmas morning.

  • Oh...Oh..OH! Don't even get Ida started on Cable company voice issues. When we first got the service, had all the little perks that went with it. Now, sans call waiting we have NOTHING!

NOTHING!!!! And no help is in sight at all. I can't believe this has gone unspoken between us!
