Sometimes i just want to shake him.

Just found this little gem in my email dated March 10th.

From the Boss:

Motivation !!!! Its what drives us to achieve our Goals

Sometimes you may need a little push to jump start your Motivation So remember:

The true source of Motivation is within YOU.

Right, then. Carry on.

  • I am assuming that your boss was totally serious. How do you not mock him to his face?!

  • R - Totally serious. It is HARD to keep a straight face. Mostly there is a lot of scowling and dirty looks.

  • Motivation! Sometimes that starts with a pay raise!

  • whinger - couldn't have said that better myself.

shiftclick - there's a character on 'Veronica Mars' that has a "daily inspirational message" on his cell phone's outgoing voicemail greeting. Its always a sappy quote that corresponds to what's happening on the show and is really funny.
I say go for it. You'll never be looked at the same again.

  • Claire, I can't believe you watch Veronica Mars. I never would have seen that one coming!

Yes, rules for working where we are: (1) do not have a personal life NO MATTER WHAT, (2) do not befriend your co-workers-this will prevent work from being done, and will begin to make you have a personal life (see above rule), (3) any joy or happiness will be squashed. NO if's, and's or but's. (4) Motivation means never making any errors, not being a robot, not having any personality, no thinking for yourself, work 12 hour days.

My personal favorite of our fearless leader's saying is: WORK SMARTER, NOT HARDER.

  • Just awesome. Your boss is clearly brilliant. And his um, motivational emails are clearly working so well in your office.

    *ahem*

Well, at the very least, it makes good fodder for your blog.
